Triumph TR6 - TR6 increasing in value? Not surprizing.
I thought the BB members would like to see this article from Hagerty magazine regarding the TR6. For those of you that don't know, Hagerty is an insurance company that provides insurance coverage for collector/classic cars. I think they cover classic boats as well. They also follow the collector car market very closely and put out a great little magazine to their members that covers the latest collector car happenings. The issue I received recently has a nice little article about the "collectibility" of the TR6. It's a short article so I'm reprinting the whole thing. It appears our cars are getting a little notice. I have no affiliation with Hagerty other than having my TR6 insured with them. I asked their permission to reprint the article. Read on. Article reprint: 1969-76 Triumph TR6- Those grumbling about being priced out of the big Healey market have frequently taken refuge with Triumph's last traditional sports car - the TR6. Sharing many of the attributes of the Healey, including smooth six-cylinder power, butch looks and ease of maintenance, the TR6 really is a credible alternative for those seeking the big British sports car experience on a budget of around one-third the price of a Healey 3000. Those on a budget may be watching the same price escalation all over again as the going rate for a nice TR6 has shot up from around $10,000 to closer to $20,000 in recent years. A nice TR6 purchased in the high teens now will be considered a bargain in a year. reprinted courtesy Hagerty’s Magazine www.hagerty.com and Sports Car Market www.sportscarmarket.com, copyright 2006”) |
