Triumph TR6 - Temp Sending Unit

I just purchased a new temp sending unit from Moss for my TR6. Their catalogue shows two; one for a TR250 and one for a TR6. I ordered the one for the TR6 went to install it and found it does not skrew in like the one removed. Not wanting to try and force and hense strip...checked package and it is labled temp sending unit TR5 yet part number on package is for the TR6. Has anyone had any similar experience. Is there a diff size between TR6 and TR5? The tech reps at Moss are researching. Shawn.
