Triumph TR6 - Seatbelt buzzer

Hey guys,my seat belt buzzer on my 74 sounds off anytime it wants to,sounds like morse code when driving on a bumpy road.I know this unit is part of the starting system,so removing it is not an option, but is there a way to silence the buzzer?
David

David,

On pins 11 and 12 of the buzzer, you'll find a white/red wire and a white/orange wire. Cut these two wires and connect them together and you'll be good to go. Just pull the buzzer out then and set it aside just in case you ever decide yo want to fix it and put it back.

The w/r wire is the start signal from the key switch, and the w/o wire carries the start signal from the buzzer to the start relay if the seat belts are fastened. By shorting these together, you will have bypassed the buzzer module.

In '75, following complaints from customers, Triumph did exactley that - cut the w/o and the w/r wires and connected then together so the car would start without the seat belts being fastened.
Dan Masters

Thank you Dan,I will give that a try,I knew I wasn't the only one with this problem. This TR6 is the most reliable of all the vintage sports cars I've owned, love driving it.
David

I did what Dan said by making a U-shaped jumper out of copper wire and shorting those pins at the module plug (after pulling the round module plug). The module is on the upper left side of the passenger footwell. No problems since.
