Triumph TR6 - Rear Spring Compression
| Hi Folks Well after what seems a long business trip, I took the advantage of some time on the rear rebuild yesterday. I had to fit the rear coils (on a bare frame-no body weight), so of to the shop to buy a spring compression set, and after much frustration (these are not designed for rear coils) I gave up, I tried jacking the trailing arm but all that did was to raise the frame et all. And with no other help around (to add weight) I resorted to what some would say was an engineering solution, others may say "what foolishness". I placed a 2x4 between the frame and my garage rafter my thoughts were "I can't jack up the roof". This did work and only took 5 minutes per side. I share this photo with you. Les |
