Triumph TR6 - Prelube the engine before start up
Hey guys, I was just reading through some of the pages on the Car Bibles web site that Rick C. mentioned on the oil thread and came upon this site, http://www.autoenginelube.com/ This product it seems to me is perfect all of us that has a collector car that sits for months at a time. Pre oiling the engine should virtualy eliminate all startup wear. Interested to hear what others think. Chris

Hi Chris, It seems like a great idea..the one question I have is will it hold pressure and work as described after 6 months or more depending on the storage. Charlie

I had a similar one on a race car years ago. It wouldn't hold the oil under pressure overnight but it has it's place on a race track. this was what I had: http://www.accusump.com/ Mine had a manual valve but I wouldn't waste $$ on another. I'd look into something like this instead http://www.pre-luber.com/trailerlifeart.htm Tim

Charlie, Tim, I emailed my concerns to the makers and here is there reply, "Rest assured the canister will have exactly the same amount of oil and pressure after 6 months as it will after 6 min. The oil pressure is what holds the plunger against the seal... Add the optional solenoid controller to maximise the pressure and volume of oil in the canister for even better performance." So, for what it's worth. Chris
