Triumph TR6 - Parts compatibility
| Hi. I have a 73 TR6 in good condition except for the usual bondo around the head and tail lights. I was planning to purchase replacement panels and slowly rebuild the car. I now have the opportunity to buy a 1976 TR6 with an overdrive gearbox for less than $4000. The car is not in as good condition as mine but the panels are not rusted/bondo etc. Are all the panels compatible with a 73 and will the overdrive fit. Seems like a good deal as all the new parts and overdrive would prbably exceed the purchase price of the car. Cheers, Neil. |

| Neil, From '72 and up to end of TR6 ('76) used the J type OD so you are good to go one that. Figure a good working J type is worth $1,500.00 The front wings will fit. The only difference will be where the holes are for the front bumper side mounting point (height). A little filling and a new hole and it is fixed. The doors and all other panels are a perfect fit including both rear 1/4s. The engine and full drive train are worth at the very least 4thou. Rick |
