Triumph TR6 - oil & tire pressures
I have a triumph tr6 1973, can anyone tell me the best oil to use and best tire pressures to maintain please
Gary Brearley
I run Castrol 20/50 and If I'm not mistaken around 32psi in the tires.
JT White
Gary I also run Castrol 20W50. I have bias ply tires (tyres) on my 69 TR6 and I closely follow the original tag which says front tires tag 20 psi me 22 rear tires tag 24 psi me 26. I am not saying this is the best but I have no complaints. Regards Mike Petryschuk

Both are a tricky questions to answer. Depending on tire size and what you like. Oil might depend on where you live and how old the motor, or better yet ,how tired.
DON KELLY
Don is pretty much right on the money. Just watch your tire wear pattern to adjust tire pressure accordingly. When I first rebuilt my engine, our Pacific Northwest weather gave me too high of an oil pressure using 20w-50. I went to a 10w-40 weight which was fine until I drove the car in 100+ degree weather were the car smoked a lot! Now that my engine has a few miles, I've gone back to the 20w-50 with good oil pressure. Good luck.
