Triumph TR6 - Oil Pan
| While getting ready to install my oil pan I noticed 4 of the 23 thread galleys continue into the bottom of the engine (2 on the front aluminum block and 2 in the cast iron block itself). do I need to use thread tape or some type of thread lock on these 4 bolts to prevent oil seep from these mounting points? Anyone ever try to address this before? |

| DW I used silicon gasket material around the gasket where the bolts are. Otherwise I didn't worry about it. I don't think I would use tape or thread lock (just to avoid potential damage to the thread and for ease of future maintenance). |

| Michael - Good idea.. I think I will keep it simple and run with the extra sealant. It was my plan initially but I started thinking about how much oil my engine leaked prior to the rebuild. I think it was mostly related to the 30+ year old gaskets and seals...

| They don't go into any passages so don't worry. I would be more concerned if you re used the sealing block. Big potential for leakage |
