Triumph TR6 - matador red interior
Just wondering how many 1972 tr6s came with matador red interiors, and what where the body colours for this option?

Ian If you have that interiour colour I would say you have a very rare car. I was not aware that was even an interiour colour...body colour yes. No idea on body colour...black? Rick

That was the last year for red interiors in a Triumph. I dare say that the car would be white (or at least was originally white) and would be a rare color combination indeed as most white ones had either black or tan interiors. There really weren't any other standard colors in 1972 that would have worked well with a red interior except for the white. The red interiors kind of fell by the wayside to a large extent in the late sixties/early seventies and it is likely that only some very early production 72s got red interiors. Once the stock of trim parts were used up, that was the end of them. A real shame too in my mind, I think a white LBC with a red interior is such a classic combination.

Ian, Steve is the authority on such things, but somewhere I saw a Model Year, Body color, Interior Trim options chart. Don't remember the website offhand, but the chart is probably on cd 1. I'm sure that I have a copy in my library at home. If needed send note offline...dbaker04ATaolDOTcom w/the usual conventions. db
