Triumph TR6 - Master Brake Cylinder Thread size
Does anyone know what the thread size on the brake lines fittings that connect to the master cylinder. I need to replace my master cylinder and want to buy a kit so that I can bench bleed it. But I want to make sure the kit I buy has the correct adapters that will screw into the master cylinder. Thanks

As memory serves, one is 3/8 x 24 and the other is 7/16 x 20. Same goes for the other end of those lines (at the PDWA) Hope that helps Alistair

Doesn't depend on the year?. I assume that metric conversion covered that piece too.

As far as the hydraulic components go, only the 16M front calipers were "metricated," all the other parts continued to use unified threads. Replacement brake boosters were changed over to metric sometime in the mid to late eighties, but then again, they are not a hydraulic component. Alistair has the threads correct, they were done that way so you could not mix up the front and rear lines at the tandem master cylinders or the PDWA. The tricky part is getting the correct fitting for the -3 tubing used with that 7/16-20 thread. Most fittings that you see in that thread at your standard parts store (NAPA, etc.) are for -4 tubing. When needed, mine come from a local outfit that specializes in industrial tube and hose fabrication.
