Triumph TR6 - Cooling system flush

Could someone point me in the right direction for some directions on how to to properly flush my cooling system. I will be installing a new radiator shortly. I wasn't sure if it was covered on any of the CD's.

Thanks,

Remove rad.
Take to shop.
Have them clean it.
Installation is reverse.

No not covered on any CD.
The new rad is taken care of.

There are products on the market like "rad flush" that can be used to clean the rest of the block and piping (pipeing???). I do not know if you should install the new rad then do a cleaning flush. You should ask your supplier of the new rad what to do or go to a rad shop and ask them.
Sorry, not much help.

Hi Mark,
If you want to do a complete flush ( which I would do especially if you don't know when the last one was done )....remove and replace..(it's easier and cheaper now ) the thermostat..disconnect the hoses to the heater core and make sure the heater valve is open...open the drain plug on the engine block.. stick your garden hose in where the thermostat sits and run the water till it clear water runs out, flush the heater core from the in and out pipes..you may see lots of fine silt come out of the core but don't worry as that is normal..try and catch as much coolant as you can and take it to your local recycle depot.

Hope that helps you get started

Cheers
