Yes you are correct Jeff. The negative terminal connects to the distributor (actually the points which when they contact go to ground) Mike Petryschuk

Jeff: Join up for this BBS at no charge and access many detailed and helpful posts in Archives on Pertronix installations. The guys patiently took me through the installation of the Pertronix on my '76. There are differences between hookups in older and newer TR's with unballasted or ballasted systems. Also, buy the hot coil to complete your system, either Pertronix Flamethrower or Lucas Sport. Worth the $$. Cheers, Bob 1976 - TR6

Hi Jeff, Bob is right join the BBS, tons of information. I installed a Pertronix last year, great improvement. It turned out at the time that my coil had been wired in reverse by I assume the DPO or his mechanic. The ignition system still worked however. This year I just switched to the Lucas Sport coil and widened the plug gaps. All that info is available in the archives. Sylvain
