Triumph TR6 - Canadians Beware
Hi Folks For the Canadian frequent e-bayers, watch out for the not so good bargains when shopping for parts on ebay. This week I got charged $12.50 by the Canada Border Security Services for looking at (not opening) a parcel clearly marked antique auto parts. Today a part arrived (used electronic ignition)by UPS (which I had paid the seller for) and they asked for $60 COD for brokerage fee plus $16.00 GST. This shipment I refused and sent it back. So please watch out. Les

Hello Les When I buy on e-bay I always USPS postal service as like Caanada Post, being federal services there is never brokers fees. Anyway with diff. between both dollars & shipping cost, item must be at real good price to have a good deal on e-bay, I agree with you.. Cheers, Jean G.

Yep, stay away from UPS, Fedex and others like that. USPS works fine, and is almost as quick. If I am not home, there is a note in the mail box and i go pick up the part at the local drug store. With UPS i end up going into town, and if im lucky wait 15 minutes and get it from their warehouse! No duty on the parts, but depending upon what part of Canada you live in, you may have some sales tax to pay.

Les - I feel your pain. I was P.O'd last week when I received a replacement laptop battery oredered from a "Canadian" website - priced in $CAD and free shipping. It was mailed from California so I ended up being charged duty, GST & PST courtesy Canada Border Services. Barry
