Triumph TR6 - BC What a thrill

Well I happen to be in Vancouver for 10 days on business. So what do you do on a fantastic warm day in September, you head to the mountains and in particular Whistler, and what will be the winter olympics. I left early in the morning with the intention to having lunch in Whistler.

I had a great drive and good snack, roads were twisty and are undergoing quite a bit of work, so where is this all heading???? Well on the way back to Vancouver I noticed the odd MG, Jaguar, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Spitfire and then it was not the odd ones, a stream of MGB's, a few TR6's &7 and a bevy of "All Sorts", and by a bevy I mean there must of been over 100 Brit classics on the road heading towards Whistler.

I stopped in a Squamish at Timmy's to have a chat with some of the drivers to see what was going on, one chap told me that this was their annual British Classics Vancouver to Whistler run. Unfortunately there were no TR stopped for coffee. This guy had an MG, but just by looking at it this was no ordinary MG, it had flared wheel arches, Miata seats, and under the bonnet a nice Rover V8, this was an extreemly great looking car.

Oh well back to NS next week, looking forward to getting the frame from Chris Trace mmmmmmmmmmm.

That is a great road with spectacular scenery, and you luckily had some other great scenery to go with it.

Last week we went to visit friends in Oregon to do some cycling.

I nearly fell over when we were putting the bikes in their garage to find a beautiful Austin Healey 3000! "Oh well you need to see the shed" he says. The Shed? It was big enough to park a highway bus, with a row or 2 of cars down each side! In front of the John Deere tractor was an all orginal, mint E Type Jag and under the cover beside it was the 1951 XK 120, fully restored!

After some long days cycling, my wife and I decided to take a day off and do some 'tourist stuff'.

"Take the Healey, it needs the exercise!" Wow that was fun!

Later that afternoon when the cyclists returned, the comment was "Now take out the XK, it needs some exercise too" I didn't have to be told twice!

WOW those were sweet rides!! Even my wife got a thrill.

Guess I'll go buy another lottery ticket ...
