Triumph TR6 - 1972 Tr-6 fuel tank removal

Hi Just registered. I bought a TR-6 which ran great for a short period of time. I found the fuel filter fully clogged with dirt not rust. I was wondering how to remove the fuel tank. Thanks for all help!!. Jim

Hello,

Very simple J.

By rear trunk you remove all securing bolts and collar to extract large fuel tube + 2 sender's wire. The tricky parts is underneath to remove small gas outlet (there is not so much place to work).

I suggest you have the tank "hot tanked" and try the Moss system(cleaning+etching+sealing compound) to have tank interior coated and good for another thousand years of driving.

The only un-funny task is to reinstall sender's gasket...
