Triumph TR3 - Wire wheel conversion
| I have an early TR3 with steel wheels and the older Lockheed dual master braking system with drums all around. I have replaced or rebuilt the entire braking system, and it works very well. I would like to convert to wire wheels, but would like to stay as original as possible/practical. I'm having trouble locating the necessary older-style squarish hubs for both the front and rear. I would consider buying a used rear end if I could find one. I suspect that changing the front hubs would be pretty straight forward. Does anyone know what it would take to switch to a later style rear end and front hubs? I assume i would need to also change the front and rear brakes, but I would prefer to keep the look of the dual master cylinder. I wonder if the brake line fitting would be alright between two systems. Any insights would be welcome. |
