Triumph TR3 - TR3A Schematic

I have a wiring schematic from my Haynes Manual, but it is for both the TR3 and TR4 cars. I made the mistake of foloowing it and burned out my Petrol Gauge. That is now repaired, and I am going forward with wiring the front turn signals (the clear ones). Does anyone know what color wires go where? I don't want to make anymore costly mistakes. This is the last wiring I need to do before rewrapping the harness. Any help would be greadly appreciated.

Dan Masters has put all the schematics on his site : -

Page 1 is for TR2 to TR3. You will have to zoom in to read the colours. The wires are colour-coded and at the bottom, you can read what the codes are.

Careful that you don't flip to the bottom of page 1 or you will find yourself looking at page 2 page 3 etc. which are for the TR4.

Barry Shefner's TR2 to TR3A site (Montreal Triumph Club) has a copy of the original which you will also have to zoom in on. Click on "Diagram" on the left side menu.

May you have a very Happy and Healthy New Year.

I just finished reinstalling the turn signal/parking lights on my 59 TR3A. The wires to the lights were so deteriorated that they had no color whatsoever. Therefore I used a low range ohmmeter with the lamps installed to measure the resistance between the bullet connectors and the frame for each of the two wires on each side. I connected the high resistance circuit to the parking light main harness connector and the low resistance circuit to the turn signal main harness connector. Luckily colors on the main harness were still in good shape so I could use the diagrams Don told you about for identification of the wires in the main wire harness. I used a low amperage 12V power supply and a 5 amp fuse to test the the circuits instead of the battery in case there were shorts that could burn a wire in the harness or elsewhere. I did not trust those 30 or 50 amp fuses in the fuse block on the scuttle. It all seemed to work properly although I have not reinstalled the battery yet.

Forgot to tell how I determined the ground wire for the turn/park lights. Again I used the low range on the ohmmeter and tested the resistance of all three different pairs of wires that come from one light. The resistance will be different on each pair. The pair with the highest resistance are the two wires that go to the turn/park circuits. The other wire is the ground wire that is clipped to the structure.
