Triumph TR3 - tr paint color
tr friends, i am restoring a 59 tr3a,which was red in color when i purchased it. the british heritage trust factory records show this tr was originally sebring white. i would like to paint my tr the original color of sebring white. on the vintage triumph register web site http:/vtr.org they show martin-senour paints for triumphs. the paint chip #20388 (tr's 59-60) sebring white on my computer screen looks like it might have a little light gray tint to it,compared to the other white paint chips shown. i would like to know what is the true color of sebring white. thanks payne

I agree with you that it looks like their is a slight gray to blue shade to Sebring White. I have found a link that shows the color on a car http://teglerizer.com/triumphcolors/index.html I hope this helps and I like the idea of returning it to the orginal color, like mine too many are RED. My 58 TR3A Was and is the orginal color Signal Red. I really like some of the lesser popular color Silverstone, Cotsworth Blue, Primrose yellow and of course the over used Apple Green. (I never seen an apple green 3). Good luck Russ Austin 58 TR3A Southern Indiana

tom, the link you recommended will help out a lot. it is good to see the whole car rather than a small paint chip. i purchased my first triumph comm.#TS20620LO on 2 dec 1957. it had the small mouth grill.the tr was red (i added two white racing stripes) and came with wire wheels, heater, overdrive, white top & white tonneau. like a lot of past triumph owners i wish i had never sold it,if it is still around i hope the owner is taking good care of it. thanks for your help, payne
