Looking for some suggestions on a good spot to mount a radio in a TR-3, Any information on the daeler mounted location would be appreciated. I have an older AM/FM with switchable polarity so the + ground is not an issue. Thanks

Hey dmp, It's nice to know that someone else is having problems about radio location. I studied this problem for quite a few years, since I've had my TR3 since 68. I finally came to the conclusion that since as you know there is no good place on or in the dash. I mounted my radio in the glove compartment for quite a few reasons, first, it is very much out of the way, since I don't use the compartment for much of anything, the side boxes in the doors work great for the little things that I might have. Secondly, it is not in view of potentional thieves, that would invoke some idiot to cut your top, or the doors for entry. Third you don't have the wires and and hardware hanging around to cause havoc of unsightly, cheap looking instalation. The speakers can also mount under the dash quite easily, leaving also the clean look, and another reason to deter thieves from seeing them. They will not be exposed to the weather elements, if it rains, and you will not cut up the doors, or other interior parts to take away the stock look, and restoration issues. Hope this helps you out in your decision of what you might do. If you need futher help, please e- me at the address displayed. I have been in the auto-motorcycle business for over 20 years, and still race stock cars, and road racing. Or just write and we can disscuss other Triumph issues. Have a nice day....... Sal

The radio was mounted in the center hanging from a bracket right below the instrument cluster. The old radio's had a speaker built in the bottom.
