Triumph TR3 - Steeting Box
| I need a steering box rebuild but don't want to wait 10 weeks. Roadster can do no better... Any Ideas? |

| Hi Have you adjusted your box? There's a pin that rides in a slot that has a lock nut for adjusting the play. Right on top of the box. Don't go real tight. Adjust with whell straight ahead. Look at the manual. Are your tie rod ends in good shape? Is the idler arm tight? This is not adjustable, and wears a lot, cause nobody ever greased them. There's another thing called a silent block bush and pin that wears out too. All these things will add up to bad steering. And they all wear out before the steering box, so check them first. Maybe I'm assuming too much. Try a search on the net. there are all kinds of other places that do rebuilding. Triumphs Only, TS Automotive, Victoria British, the VTR website, Team.net, etc. Search it out. Use the link pages. You might even try e-bay. HAppy Triumphing |
