Triumph TR3 - Steering Box Fluid Choice

Gents,

After changing seals, shims, setting endfloat, adding a spring-loaded adjust plate and addressing play, it's time to refill the fluid in the steering box of my TR3A. What's the recommendation here? Is the gel-like Penrite steering lube the way to go? Hypoy gear oil? Other choices?

I've seen the few past postings on this, but I'd like to hear what everyone else is using and why. Is anyone using the Penrite product? If so, how goes it?

Steer me right guys, the good weather is almost here!

Thanks.

Hi Bill:
Hypoy 80-90 spec GL4 is recommended.GL4 as opposed to GL5 in the interest of helping preserve any brass bushings that it comes in contact with.

Bill ,I have used Hypoy but mixed about 50cc"s of STP or similar. This makes a nice "sticky oil" which I reckon must be good for the old box.--Regards--M
