Triumph TR3 - Side curtain fixing

What type of fixing methods are used for attaching and securing the side curtains into their proper (upright) place. Can't seem to find any info in manuals.

I assume you are asking how they a attached to the doors. There are two methods employed. The earlier TRs used a wedge-mount system with socket-style brackets on the doors and curtain frames that literally weged down into the socketts. Later TRs used a Dzus-style mount that consisted of a pair of brackets on the doors and Dzus fasteners in the arms on the side curtains. The arms are fitted into a small pocket that protruded from the bottom of each bracket, then the Dzus fastener is pushed into the bracket hole and turned to engage the wire on the underside of the bracket.

If everything appears to be there and your curtains are of the later style and don't remain upright when attached, check if they are fitting into the pocket on the bottom edge of the brackets securely; that there is a wire showing behind the hole in the bracket for the Dzus fastener to engage; and that the fastener is able to engage that wire.
If there of the wedge-style, your on your own as I have no experience with these.

Good Luck.

My 1961 TR3A has DZU type brackets, but the old side curtain frames are the wedge style. Can these be adapted to DZU door brackets? Has anybody tried?
Thanks, Jerry

I have the opposite arrangement. If you are interested we could affect a swap of mounting brackets.
