Triumph TR3 - Rack & pinion conversion for TR3

Has anyone any recent experience with rack and pinion conversion for TR3? There is a bolt-on kit currently on ebay (seller=trguru) and I wonder if the design has been well-tested. Any other suggestions welcome.

This seems to be a popular conversion for some reason, but I can't figure out why. The original steering system has a great feel, in my opinion. And my very early TR4 (has rack and pinion) without caster correction found in later models feels not nearly as stable on center as the 3's do. Anyway, I'm staying cam and peg. Not just for originality, although I like that too. OK, let's just say I'm lazy and cheap, LOL.
