Triumph TR3 - O.D.solonoid
| I am wondering if anybody out there has an O.D.solonoid from which I can salvage the contact breaker points(the ones that separate the internal actuating and holding coils). As far as I can see new parts for these things are not available.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Some of the people with O.D.problems might want to check that the points on their Solonoid are clean and in good shape because if they are not the holding coil may let go and O.D.will be disconnected |

| Chuck I bought a new (very expense) solenoid because my car did not have one when I bought it. The new solenoid was defective from the factory! They did not solder all the wiring joints and must not have tested it. I got into the area where the contacts are located and noticed that they are similar to those in industrial control relays. You might be able to adapt something from an electrician's junk box or Radio Shack. |
