Triumph TR3 - Lubrication for Shift Lever

What kind of grease or lubrication should be added to the shift lever at various points, such as in the retainer and cap, and at the bottom where the lever contacts the shift forks? I'm installing an anti-rattle pin and spring (none were in place, and my shift lever rattled loudly when accelerating after shifting).

Many thanks,

You can smear some wheel bearing grease or what you use for your ball joints, etc. in the bottom of the socket where the ball fits. If the round shift rods slide nicely, you don't need to add anything else.
