Triumph TR3 - Lavendar
Have any of you ever seen a TR-3 in lavendar? IF so, how did it look? Maybe a tan interior? And don't even think it. I like lavendar and women.

Tom Mahoney of Ohio has several TR3s and so he did a TR3A for his daughter about 1991 or so in pale "Mary Kay Pink". The story I heard about the original selection of colours was the following. The head of Triumph, Sir John Black was not into colours so he asked his wife to take on the task. It just so happened at that time, she was having the interior of their mansion repainted, so she asked the painters. That's the story how they came up with Geranium as one of the early colours, a colour which the competition-minded British buyers had re-sprayed before they put these salmon pink TR2s into the Monte Carlo Rally, etc. Don Elliott, Original Owner Mine came black and it is still black. http://www.britishcarforum.com/ubbthreads/photopost/showphoto.php/photo/1919/ppuser/4127

Geranium is a bold one. Lavender would be OK, I guess. You'd probably have to tell everyone you met that you really do like women. I painted a model car in metallic heather once, and liked it. Mary Kay pink is easily identifiable, but ugly in my opinion. Red, maroon, black, BRG, maybe that light yellow would be my choices. In that order. The maroon wouldn't be an original color. But I have seen maroon TR3's and think they look great. Maybe next time...
