Triumph TR3 - Interior trim colours

I've been trying to decide what colour to paint my 59 and what colour of trim to compliment it with. I have the book Original TR 2/3/3A/3B and it lists a Targo Purple for the model year 59. Exactly what colour is this? Is there a place where I can obtain colour chips and examples of the interior colours? How do I find out the original colour of my car?

Can't help with the colour samples, however you might be able to find traces of the original colour in out-of -the-way places such as up behind the fuel tank cover panel above the tank itself.
If you have the original commission number (plate on firewall in engine bay) you can obtain a 'birth certificate' from the original factory records. This will show date of manufacture, paint colour, trim colour, accessories fitted etc.(e.g. for my own car it was Signal Red, black trim, leather upholstery, overdrive, wire wheels and destination Australia).
Possible avenue for this service would be the TR Register in the U.K. I believe Bill Piggott (author of your reference book ) runs the system itself.
