Triumph TR3 - Gearbox oil

Hi out there:
Don's experience with 20W50 certainly is a testimonial to that grade of oil.However I would like to add also that if you refer to page 52 of the Standard-Triumph drivers manual(circa 1961)sixth edition you will see that Hypoy 90EP is recommended for the gearbox,overdrive and rear axel.The only thing I would add is that you are careful to selct spec.GL4 because the latest and most popular spec is GL5 which has an additive which eats brass.Bad news for our bushings.
