Triumph TR3 - cylinder head oil line

Hi out there.Has anybody got any comments on the addition of an oil line from the main oil gallery to the cyl head as in the kit sold by Moss.
I have been thinking of putting one on but there are some considerations such as will it disturb the oil distribution as originally designed or will it effect oil pressure in any way.Or should one consider that the lubrication system as originally designed is perfectly adequate.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had one of those lines fitted on my last TR3.
Everything appeared to be o/k, it enhaces the oil feed to the rocker shaft. I removed it when I sold the car and plan to fit it on my latest car.
Be careful not to overtighten the bolts as they easily shear.
Good luck,

I have never felt I needed this add-on item. I have over 135,000 miles on my TR3A and still have the original rockers and rocker bar. Just today I did over 200 miles on the highway holding it at 80 MPH all the way (3200 RPM in overdrive) - so you can tell I don't pamper my TR.

In addition to driving my TR, I also put it into judging concours d'elegance. So I don't want to lose a point in the judging because of a non-original looking lubricating pipe.

Hi Guys, I was curious about this topic also, as I'm currently building a new motor for my 3B. My wrench was telling me that the main restriction of oil flow to the rocker shaft was actually a restriction in passage size in the cylinder head. I checked under the rocker pedestal and sure enough the passage was roughly half the diameter of the passage in in the pedestal. The other passages in the path up through the head were much the same diameter as the one in the pedestal. Supposedly drilling out the restricted path in the top of the head should atleast double the volume of oil that can reach the rocker shaft. If anybody else has knowledge of this, I'd like to hear what you know. Hope it's not a bad thing to do since I've already done it. I guess I'll find out soon. Thanks, Marty
