Triumph TR3 - carb leak

Hi Guys:
Maybe I could get some input on the following problem.I have a leak in my front carb. The rear one is fine and put together with the same parts. The leak appears to come from the jet assy.Gas appears where the lower jet holder protrudes from the sealing nut that holds the jet assy in place. It is not coming from the sealing ring and gasket. The "o"ring seals on the jet are new and tight. The copper gaskets and seats on the flange of the lower jet holder and sealing nut have been cleaned and the copper gasket annealed to be sure it is soft and not too hard.
Has anyone tried some other method of sealing the flange of the lower jet holder and the large sealing nut other than using a copper gasket?

Hi Guys:
Well I finally found the problem. The OD of the lower jet bearing is too small for the ID of the sealing nut.The lower jet bearing is therefore allowed to wobble in the sealing nut.As soon as that happens(by pulling the choke or even vibration)the bearing flange will tip in the nut and gas will run out.
Now all I have to do is find nut and/or bearing that fit properly together.

Something to try before you pull it apart. Pull the jets down and slather them with vaseline. Run them up and down a few times, clean off the excess, and give it a try. Can't hurt, anyway.
