Triumph TR3 - Bolt for Rear Spring Eye

Gents,

What kind of fit should I look for between the bolts that go through the front spring of the rear leaf spring? After prying them out, I'm wondering how best to finish/dress/treat them before reinstalling. I'm assuming this is a good time for anti-seize. Does the inside collar of the spring eye bushing actually rotate on the bolt during operation, or is the bolt supposed to "hold" tight inside the bushing, relying instead on the rubber to "twist"?

TIA,

The front end of the spring has a long bolt that comes through from the far side of the frame. Did you manage to get them out. Bravo ! In all my TR years, you must be only the second person who was able to "extract" them.

Use lots of anti-seize during reassembly. neil Revington in England sell them made of stainless steel.

The rubber bushing is pressed tightly into the front "loop" of the rear spring. The spring will flex and I assume it will rotate on the aforementioned bolt. Anyway, if it doesn't, it just means that when you accelerate like a bat out of H..., the spring will wind up in an "s" shape and so . . . . .

Who knows ?
