Triumph TR3 - Anti Sway Bar

I have a 1959 TR3A it has an anti sway bar which is a lillte bent. I cant seem to find it in any manuals or parts catalouge. I was wondering if this a factory option or an aftermarket part.

Yes Scott there was a factory option it was called the Anti-Roll Bar Kit part # 508397. This information came from the Spare Parts Catalogue - Fourth Edition (part #501652/USA)

I would try and see if this could be straighted out or something.

Scott - I think that if you took it off and took it to somewhere where they can bend steel rods, they can straighten it too. But don't let them talk you into heating it red hot and then when it's soft it'll straighten more easily. Because the heat will take the stiffness out of it. It can be heated to anneal it, but they also have to know how to heat treat it properly to put the temper back into it.

Check the price of a new one and compare.

I've never had a sway bar (or an anti-sway bar for that matter) on my TR3A and I got to all the TRA meets thet I wanted to without a sway bar. See you there. Mind you, I've been to many TRA meets where I saw a bunch of guys coming out the welcome party swaying from the bar in a zig-zag way.

I guess I don't have to ask you Russ if you'll be there !
