Triumph TR3 - 1963 TR3A front letter spacing
| Need to know the correct spacing of the letters above the grille, any info appreciated. |

| I ran out to the garage and found that from the crease by the headlight to the T is 4 1/2 " Likewise, the distance from the H to the crease by the headlight was also 4 1/2 " But, due to the difference in the width of the individual characters, the rest of the measurements varies. I suggest that you lay out Seven paper squares the size of the "largest/widest" letter and space the evenly. John |

| There are 2 different types of "Letters" used on the front apron of a TR3A and the mounting holes are different for each of the two. The earlier type was referred to and resembles Block Type letters. The center of each letter is recessed and the centerhas a ribbed pattern. The later letters are the same as those on a TR4, They are not as wide and the face is smooth and concave. I have a template for the mounting holes of both types.
