Triumph Spitfire - Trying to get 66 spit started

Can someone assist me in getting a 66 spit with twin su carbs started. I had it going for a few minutes and then it died and would not start back. Then for some unknown reason the key would turn in the ignition but the starter would not turn. Need to know where to begin with the ignition switch, then how to adjust carbs to where i can get car started. Any information would be appreciated.
