Triumph Spitfire - The Last Spitfire

Do you have a very late Spitfire? Have you ever looked inside the door panels? You could have a "Last Spitfire"!

I have now seen two Spitfires with this message written inside the door panels, and signed by the fitters in the trimshop at the Canley factory. Both cars are VERY late Spitfires, within a few Commission numbers of the car with the highest no. That car is now at the Gaydon Museum, and billed as 'The Last Spifire'. However, the cars I have seen, and the conversations I have had with some the the fitters, who I have traced, mean that the Gaydon car is probably NOT the last one down the assembly line!

There can't be TWO last of anything, but one of 'my' cars is French, while the other is in the UK. I think that they may be the last LHD and RHD cars.

Prove me wrong! if your Spitfire has a Comm.No. more than 009850, look inside the doors and tell me, here, what you find. Even if you fidn nothing it will help me. Thanks!
