Triumph Spitfire - Spark Plug Gap

I have installed a new Lucas Super Coil and a new starter. I'm about to replace the distributor with a Mallory Dual Point. I'm told that the plug gap can be increased with the new coil, but I'm not sure how much of an increase is allowable. Any advise would be appreciated!
