Triumph Spitfire - Rod Bearings and Oil Pump R&R

Hi Guys,

I will be helping a friend of mine replace his rod bearings and oil pump in a 1500 Spitfire. I have worked on several LBC's over the years, but this will be my first 1500.

My question is; Are there any special issues I need to be watching out for? Any tips or tricks I need to know? I have read the repair manuals and it all sounds very basic and straight forward. however, i wanted to hear what the pros, those who work on and drive the Spits daily had to say.

You are also replacing the thrust washers, aren't you?
