Triumph Spitfire - Racing Transmission

I've heard installing a TR7 transmission in Spitfires & GT6 is a desireable mod for racing. Can anyone tell me how this is done?

I had a simular question, although I can't answer your question Eugene. Is the J-type 1500 Overdrive Trans any good for racing?
