Triumph Spitfire - Help and Information wanted about 1971 Spitfire

I am thinking of purchasing a 1971 spitfire, it seems to be in good shape and the owner is asking $2000 for it. I have done some research but am still not sure if this is a good price. Any help would be appreciated especially what to look for that might need fixing in the future.
