Triumph Spitfire - Door Mirrors

Hi all,

Just purchased some chrome "Bullet Racing Mirrors" for my Mk3 Spit. Id like to mount them on the doors as opposed to the front wings.

Are there any "factory" positions/dimensions for the location of these mirrors? All I can see in photographs is they mount onto the front few inches of the door top where the inner/outer skins are closest together ie above the hinges. The GT6 ones appear further back to allow for the quaterlights.

Any ideas or measurments of your cars most helpful.

I have a 1976 sipt6 and the mirriors are on the door
and I find the mounting on the totally un useful
while driving.
