MG TD TF 1500 - WATER PUMP FLOW-TD

I'm really gettin tired of replacing these damn leaking water pumps, even with the loose belts and such,,, Especially now that the NEW replacements (Country) need a fair amount of work to just make them fit!! Sooo, I'm working on an idea,,, For starters, does any one know what the flow capacity is of the existing pumps????

Hi Steve,

Have you looked at the RaceMettle water pump?

I don't have one yet but Steve Neal has one in his Y and is happy with it so far. Pricey but I guess they work and don't leak. Given it's such a PITA to change I'll probably buy one next time.

Dave,
Thanks for passing this on! You are correct about being a bit pricey, but if they fit and last, it will be well worth it ! The pumps from Moss (Country) even come with a printed warning that they must be worked on to fit!!

Thanks again

You can find an original core and have it rebuilt with an uprated brass 6-blade impeller, stainless steel shaft and modern rubber seals. I always prefer this route over buying reproduction parts.

Steve, this is an issue. I've replaced the pumps on the TD, TF and the TC recently. The TC and TF were loose, TF was leaking. The pump on the TD froze up.
The replacement pumps from Abingdon needed a piece of the casting ground off to fit. I also ground off the threads of a grease fitting and JB Welded it to the new pump to look correct. Maybe I'm nuts but I just don't like the look without the grease fitting.
