MG TD TF 1500 - turn signals 'flicker' not 'flash'?
Hi all, A friend who followed me to a car show last weekend says my turn signals look more like a fast "flicker" rather than a definitive "turn signal". I agree. However he thinks I have a weak ground somewhere but being the one who just installed the electrical I do not think that's possible. Every ground is on bare metal with dialectric grease. All wires are new. Bulb sockets were cleaned well. Just wondering if this is "just how they work" or what else could be the cause? Anybody else have this symptom? Aside: Did anyone happen to see the US Pro Cycling event come through our town yesterday? All the Tour de France guys. Quite the event except the announcer kept calling us "Grand Crested Butte". There is no such place! It's Mt. Crested Butte. Thanks, Ed

Ed, Both directions (all four) rapid flicker? You get fast flicker if one of the bulbs is bad. (You no doubt knew that) Anybody know if this happens if dash indacator is "out"? I think I would try new flasher first if all the bulbs are good. (Easy, cheap, and you'll have a spare if that's not the problem) Don't forget "flicker" is the third princple of Lucas operational modes! (Better than "ignite")

Hi Ed My indicators were flashing much too fast (about 180/ minute). Checked everything else, finally replaced the flasher unit and it solved the problem. Now flashes about 60 times each minute. Matt

Incorrect bulbs can also cause this symptom.

Try an EL-13 flasher. It works very well with both LED and incandescent bulbs. warmly, dave
