MG TD TF 1500 - turn signal won't flash
Hi all, Only part of my new wiring that won't work is turn signals. Using new Moss harness, Napa F550 flasher can, and existing turn signal relay. All parts worked fine prior to restoration! Relay box/can has been moved from wrong place inside engine compartment to correct place under dash and was properly grounded to that place. I'm getting power in at "P" side of flasher can (using test light), very low power at "X", and no power at "L" (or #1 on relay box) with ignition switch on. When I activate left/right signal using the switch I get power in at #4/#8 on relay box so the box is getting power. I should be getting power out of #2,#3,#6 & #7 (shouldn't I?) to the lights but I get nothing. Hence no flashey! My question is should I be getting power at "L"? I'm not real clear on what/when this should be happening. I've tried a 2nd new 550 and still doesn't work. Suggestions?

Gentlemen, this is the beauty of this forum! I've spent an entire day diagnosing this problem and within 30 minutes of asking for advice I get the answer from half way around the world!!! Thoralf, you hit it on the head! I'm using one of those colorful blowup diagrams I purchased from the internet. I remember reading there was one mistake on it but nobody could remember what it was. Guess what? You found it! The X and P connections on the flasher can are REVERSED on this diagram. I simply flipped the two leads and everything works again! Thoralf, if we ever should meet I owe you several Norweigan beers! Regards (and relieved to move on), Ed

Ed. Glad you got it working. Thank yoe for your offer on beers, but I have to warn you, beers in Norway is very expensive. 5§ a can in the grocery shop, or 10§/pintin a pub or rest. Regards. and have a nice summer in your MG. Thoralf Norway TD4490
