MG TD TF 1500 - Thread: Relpacement sparkplug for the NGK BPR6S
| This post is repeated on the MGB thread. There has been a great deal of discussion on the BBS regarding the best plugs for MGs in general. The most often recommended is the NGK BP6S or the BPR6s, the resister version and best suited if you have a radio installed. After much consternation in trying to find a set of BPR6S plugs, I Discovered that these plugs have been discontinued and replaced with the below plugs. According to the Tech Rep at NGK, the Iridium is the best choice. I think that this overkill. My choice is the G-power. The below list of currently available and recommended plugs for MGs is provided below and may help in your selection. 1964 MG MGB 1.8 L4 2-1 bbl NGK Spark Plug Standard BPR6ES (Replaces the BPR6S V-Power BPR6EY (Hi Performance version) G-Power BPR6EGP (Platinum) Iridium IX BPR6EIX Recommended gap for Stock ignition: .025" Electronic ignition: .035" Check out the following link for a more detailed description. http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/products/spark_plugs/index.asp Frank Grimaldi |

| Frank - Good information. I have been using the BP6ES for more years than I care to recall and have had no problem with them at all. Cheers - Dave |
