MG TD TF 1500 - TF side mirrors
| These are the side mirrors to my early TF that have been on the car since '57. Recent discussion about side mirrors sparked my interest and I see most for sale have the single post style with threaded nut on the bottom. The ones I have have two Phillips screws to mount to the top of the fender. The base is flat. Do you think these are door mounted style mirrors that were put on? I'd like to restore or find replacements than drilling a new hole for the single post style mirrors. Thanks, Frank

| Frank I think you are unique. I have never seen this mirror mount on a T car in 42 years of TF ownership. Don H |

| Frank, IMHO: If you are going to restore or paint, fill the holes and get the correct ones. Not trying to offend ...but the only thing I have seen close to that was on an old Buick many years ago. Single post directly behind the signal will look much better. |

| Dave's right, however, don't leave the lock washer off the bottom...and always have someone handy to help adjust..... |

| No offense taken by any means Dave. I appreciate everyone's input. Just learning and curious to what I have here and what options I can do later for restoration. It's been on the car since I remember when we drove it home from Grandpa's barn in the early '70's. I was around 5 years old at the time. Before then I have no idea nor does my mother when he bought it in '57. He did collect other classic cars so the barns was filled with other cars and car parts and he probably installed them. Here is a pic of the German dealer badge on the right side panel. Frank
