MG TD TF 1500 - TF Hood and Side Curtain Kit
| Fellas I am at the stage where I am wanting to purchase these items. Anyone have any recommendations, would it be prudent to have a local upholsterer do a custom fit for the car? Thanks in advance. |

| Hi, Unless your body tub and wood is untouched,Factory original, you may be disappointed when you go to fit up the hood and sidecsreens from suppliers to accurate form! So many cars look 'chatty'in this area because the hood and sidescreens do not fit together well. It is highly beneficial to set up the hood and sidescreen frames on the car yourself before taking the car to a reputable, experienced upholsterer for cloth covering/affixing.Look at the hood from behind the car to ensure it is in fact horizontal.Paint the hood/sidescreens frames before fitting to the car. TF's had an unusual frame colour, with a beige/pinkish hue. If your body tub has been rebuilt, its accuracy will be tested when you go to set the hood and sidescreens. The accuracy from one side of the car to the other will be obviated! The gaps between the windscreen frame to sidescreen frame and the distances between the front and rear sidescreen frames should be even on both sides of the car. Cheers Rob Grantham TF3719("Aramis"),TF9177("Athos"). |
