MG TD TF 1500 - TD racer wiring.
| Hi guys. This is similiar to AR's thread but I have an additional problem. I have decided I need a solenoid in the starter system as I am not using the factory starter switch but rather a push button on the dash. I have an MGB solenoid that should work. Is there a schematic showing how to wire when you also have a master on/off switch? Does the master cable go to a buss and everything comes off that? I understand that the master must turn off all circuits on the car. Thanks for any help. Cheers, JL |

| James - By MGB solenoid, I assume that you are using one from the early (62 - 67) MGB. If so, the main cable from the battery goes through the master on/off switch to one of the large terminals on the solenoid with the other large terminal going to the starter. the brown wire for primary power to the car is then taken off the large terminal that the battery/ master on/off switch goes to (or the brown wire could go to the master on/off switch with the wire going to the solenoid. See the wiring diagram for the 62 - 67 MGB at http://www.advanceautowire.com/mgb.pdf Cheers - Dave |
