MG TD TF 1500 - TD HOOD FRAME COLOUR
| Hi All, Does anyone have an example of the correct, original hood frame colour/sidescreen frames for a TD?It seems that the'doeskin' colour is typical of the restored frames however I am wondering if this is really correct. Without any doubt TFs originally had their frames sprayed in a salmon/beige colour. This colour had a slight 'pinkish' hue to it. I have observed some original old stock sidescreens from New Zealand which were the same colour as TFs. Cheers Rob Grantham TF3719("Aramis"),TF9177("Athos"). |

| Rob Moss quote a colour called Tan in their parts book paint code CCHP1 don't know how close this is to original of course with all the hot weather down under the original may have faded. Regards mick 52 TD |

| Rob, I have attached some photos taken during my TD restoration, but the color rendition from flash and on monitors may not be of much help. There is no discernible pink- the color is what we call Khaki here in the states- sort of a a Word War II tan ;^). It actually looks a tad darker or muddier than in the photos. The top frame is a new old stock one that I scored during my restoration. It was in the original unopened box with the paint in as new condition. The side curtain frames required repainting and I used the Moss Motors paint in the spray cans. It matched perfectly.

| Mick and Dallas, Thankyou for your prompt input to my query re the TD hoodframe, sidescreens colour. The original hood piece colour is particularly interesting. Cheers Rob Grantham TF3719("Aramis"),TF9177("Athos"). |
