MG TD TF 1500 - speedo cable needs fixin'
| As you can see below one end of my speedo cable needs some repair. Is there something missing or does it need brazing or what? Inner cable seems fine so why waste $$$ on a new one. Thanks guys, Ed

| Just replaced my own, with a "off-shore" replacement... I think that you can easily repair the end cap, by soldering it to the sheath...It is probably a force-fit, from the factory...But soldering it would keep it in place.... Personally, I would replace the cable...Moss has the original styles and the not-so-originals. The new one stopped my speedo from playing "hop-scotch"! Edward |

| Hi Ed, I think that brass end pc was just swaged in place. the outer sheath may be aluminum and won't take solder, I'd clean the surfaces with alcohol or some carb cleaner, and use a little JB Weld to hold things together, particularly if it works OK and the speedo is stable. Al |

| Ed, I elected to have my damaged housing brazed on my tach cable. Same thing really... has worked great. warmly, Dave
