MG TD TF 1500 - speaking of clocks, how long should they last?
As In I had mine redone by Mr. Kramer about 2 years a go or so but it has quit. Seems if I adjust it in the back it will work for a bit but then decides enough is enough. I guess I could send it back to Hal, although quite honestly it really doesn't provide much benefit. I did always like walking into the shop and hearing it ticking away though. The heartbeat of my little car.

...just for fun, run a ground wire to it from a known grounded wire....

Mr Rutt Try doing what I described in the thread "clock working". The clock gets current from some "always on" source. Try cleaning the contacts in the regulator of the right side bobbin. That did it for me. A and A1 on the regulator supply always on juice. My clock behaved the same as you describe....on for a half hour or so, maybe more. It has not been running for almost 2 weeks. George suggested making a good ground. In the my TF, the clock already had a ground. Are TD clocks different in that way? Tom '54 TF

Since Hal transistorized it, mine has been running (almost continuously) for about 15 years. I recall oiling it once. I'd suggest contacting Hal. Bud
